What Was the Scope of This Breakbulk Shipment?
TICC Container Line (I) Pvt Ltd, a valued member of the AerOceaNetwork (AON), recently collaborated with fellow AON partner KG Logistics to execute the international movement of a massive industrial vaporizer. The project involved transporting the oversized cargo from Scotland to Nhava Sheva Port in India via Southampton Port in the UK.

This operation is a showcase of cross-border collaboration and project logistics expertise within the project network.

What Were the Cargo Specifications and Route?
The breakbulk cargo consisted of a vaporizer weighing 40 metric tons with enormous dimensions of 50 M x 4 M x 4 M. Due to its size, the shipment was handled as breakbulk and required specialized transport planning from its inland origin in Scotland to the port of loading in Southampton, followed by an ocean voyage to Nhava Sheva, India.

What Challenges Were Overcome in the Project Execution?
One of the key logistical challenges in this project was arranging a low-bed trailer from Scotland to Southampton. The sheer length of the vaporizer (50 M) required meticulous route planning, including:

  • Escort coordination for road transport
  • Permits for oversize movement within the UK
  • Ensuring timely availability of the low-bed vehicle to meet vessel schedule

Thanks to close coordination between TICC Container Line and KG Logistics, these hurdles were overcome, and the cargo was delivered to the vessel on time.
